Working with a team of researchers from several institutions (Stanford University – Fio Micheli (lead PI), Stephen Monismith, Larry Crowder; Georgia State University – Paul Ferraro; Rutgers University – Bonnie McKay; Communidad y Bioversidad (COBI) – Andrea Saenz-Arroyo; Universidad de Los Andes – Juan Camilo Cardenas), we are exploring dynamic feedback between the environment and society in the closely coupled Baja cooperative fisheries, and how this feedback defines marine ecosystem resilience. We explicitly looking at how science can inform local fisheries management, and how this knowledge can promote charitable funding for marine conservation. Photo Credit: C. Boch.
